Hamish Bowles, Vogue’s International Editor at Large, describes his New York apartment as “Proustian” in that it “evokes a late-19th-century aesthetic, specifically the Paris or London or New York of the writer and his friends and characters”, but also in that it’s a collection of memories. We have long been enamoured with his bright, colourful and deliciously maximalist space and were awfully delighted that Vogue has taken us for another glimpse, as photographed by Annie Schlechter for Polly Devlin’s new book, New York: Behind Closed Doors.
